Sampling declarations
This document represents pp 3–5 of the published edition. All editorial preface, introduction, translation and notes have been omitted.
Editorial declarations
Correction: Text has been thoroughly checked and proof-read. All corrections and supplied text are tagged.
Normalization: The electronic text largely represents the printed text. In the case of editorial macrons, the macron has been repositioned over the historically long vowels in the case of boi (1.3), Gaidil (9.3); the macron has been omitted in the case of the case of siān which is written siän (4.1) and Mane (10.4); a macron is supplied in the case of ceitemon (4.4) and Enna (10.3).Word-divisions are normalised in accordance with modern practice. All variants cited by the editor are rendered in the parallel segmented apparatus criticus, but the editor's marking of expansions in the apparatus criticus is not retained.
Quotation: There are no quotation marks in the printed edition. Direct speech is rendered sp.
Hyphenation: There are no soft hyphens and hyphenated words (hard or soft) do not cross line-, verse- or page-breaks.
Segmentation: div0=the text. Page-breaks are marked using milestone pb.
Interpretation: Names of persons (given names), groups (dynasties, peoples etc.), and places are tagged. Names of professions and some terms are tagged.
Reference declaration
The n attribute of each text in this corpus carries a unique identifying number for the whole text.
The title of the text is held as the first head element within each text.
div0 is reserved for the text.
Page-numbers of the printed text are tagged pb n="nn". A canonical reference can be made from the lg numbers.
