  1. A cholann chugat an bás,
    tuig féin go bhfuil ann uathbhás;
    ní dáil chosmhail nach cás lat
    an bás san orsain agat.
  2. Creid nach fada uait an t-éag;
    bí a cholann ar do choimhéad;
    ná creid don tsaoghal achd seal;
    a thaobhadh dheid ní dlighthear.
  3. Ós éigin duit dul i bhfad
    féach id dhiaidh is féach romhad
    féach faoibh is féach ós do chionn
    féach ar gach taoibh id thimchioll.
  4. Féach an óige iar n-imtheacht uaibh,
    a chroinn an duille dhiombuain,
    mór n-amhghar id chionn do chuir;
    dar liom ní hadhbhar uabhair.
  5. Imtheacht do chos lúth do lámh
    féach do chéadfadha ar gclaochládh;
    cuimhnigh ar dhoille na ndearc
    moille ar t'fhuighlibh 's ar t'éisdeacht.
  6. Féach ar thoradh thig a-mach
    asad, a cholann chiontach;
    do chamra d'fhéachain ret ais
    féachaidh an damhna díomais.
  7. Féach na fiacla féach an rosg
    ní glic nach gabhann teagosg;
    ó tá a bhféaghain deid i ndán
    creid do sgéalaibh an sgáthán.

    dá bhfaictheá a chneas 's a chruth
    ní feas an mairfeá a-márach.

    truagh an mhaise méad dod ghráin;
    féag na taise ar n-a dtógbháil.
  11. Féach a-rís is radharc tinn
    pian an anma i n-uaimh Ifrinn;
    móide as cás an t-anam ann,
    bás ní fhaghann i nIofrann.
  12. Féach na teadhma tá ar do chionn
    ag díoghailt t-uilc i nIfrionn;
    ní bhiadh fortacht ar th'olc ann;
    ort do chonntracht, a cholann.
  13. Ní chuireann ort guais ná gráin
    robhadh gach aonlá d'fhagháil;
    ní ghabhann tú robhadh riamh,
    a chnú fholamh na n-ainmhian.
  14. Iarraim ar eolach na naomh,
    Míchéal aingeal an t-ardmhaor,
    mo bhreith ar lorg naomh nimhe
    maor na ndeich n-ord n-ainglidhe.
  15. Dom chur réidh re rígh nimhe
    máthair mhic na maighdine
    díon m'anaim dí gidh docar
    taghaim í dom anacal.
  16. Saobh nach aithnighe ort féin
    nach tráth dhuit dul ar díthchéill;
    lugha sa chách bríogh do bhall,
    do bhláth do chríon, a cholann.

    Míchéal maith an teachtaire
