    ní sia ar réi-ne ná a ré sin
    ar ré le chéile chaithir.
  3. Gidh bé do bheith ar a dtí
    an lucht comhruic-se ad-chluintí
    ó ghleó an trír-se ní thiocfa
    beo acht le hísle aigionta.
  4. Cosg éanlá ní headh budh lat
    is a n-arm aca ar iomlat;
    lá dot aimsir ghirr ná gad
    is rinn na n-airm-sin ionnad.
  5. Gan mo liaigh do léigin uaim
    re headh laoi d'uain nó d'anuain
    cóir damh go bhfionnam an bhfuil
    blagh ionnam do na harmuibh.

    's an tighearna tá i n-Ifrionn
    's an saoghal seise ar gcolla

    dom chaomhna ar an gcathochadh
    's an dearna do bhí fan mbior
    na trí feadhma go bhfuilngior.
  15. Dia Athar níor fholáir dhamh
    do theacht chugam dom chosnamh;
    muna thí a dtámuid i ngioll
    dá námhuid nó a trí im thimchioll.
  16. Do b'áil liom—leathtrom an cor—
    go deacham ó Dhia Athor;
    do b'áil leam dhon leith oile
    beith teann as a thrócoire.

    gan dóigh agam a hÍoso
