- A-tám i n-easbhaidh amhoirc
ar gcaitheamh mo chéadradhoirc;
srian do chaithfinn ris an gcorp
ó mbiadh aithrinn ar m'amhorc. - Tuigim mo dhíoth amhoirc as
nach móide iarraim eolas
gan éantroigh ar a haghaidh
ag céadfaidh dom chéadfadhaibh. - Go n-aithnighim orum féin
móide as oirchios a haimhréir
nach foil roirinn ar mo rosg;
doibhinn lem thoil a teagosg. - Dá mbeinn i gcogadh rem chorp
ní bhiadh easbhaidh ar m'amhorc;
tug síoth do thabhairt dom thoil
díoth amhairc ar an anmoin. - Ní cosmhail nach meallfadh mé
mo námha i n-aimsir m'óige
's go saoilim go bhfoighbhe faill
oirn-ne i gcaoileirr an chochaill. - Nach faicfe sinn ó so a-mach
aithnim ar m'aigneadh ndíomsach,
gé theasda ón radhorc a rinn,
d'amhorc feasda achd a bhfaicim. p.20 - Ar ndul ó ar dtír féin i bhfad
tugadh linn lór do dhearmad
do bhrígh ar ndearc do dhalladh
searc don tír i dtángamar. - Do bharr ar bhuain na habhla
do chuir d'éis a hagallmha
mar do choill Éabha an aithne
séana croinn na comairche. - Oidhre Dé ler dúineadh neamh
do bhaoi go ceann cóig n-aimsear
nar roinn sé a ghlóir re a ghaoltaibh,
an chóir is é d'éanaontaidh. - Fuair aonta an athar neamhdha
gur bh'í toil an tighearna
teacht i dtruaill chumhaing an chuirp
tre bhuain an ubhaill orrdhuirc. - Do chead na cúirte móire
táinig i mbroinn banóighe;
an chomhairle as ar luigh leis
dár ngonaibh-ne is luibh leighis. - Acht éad ar an seanóir saoir
fan mac nar thuill a thathaoir,
d'fhoiléim mar do-chuaidh 'n-a corp
toibhéim ní fhuair a hóghacht. - Do b'ionann agus a éag
a theacht i gcorp dár gcoimhéad;
dá bhás do bhí 'n-a fhioghair
rí na ngrás do ghiniomhain. - Beatha Críost gur caitheadh ribh
feadh éanuaire dá aimsir
go lá a bháis ní bhíoth gan phéin;
páis do budh chrioch dá chaithréim. - Mé dámadh mac díleas dó
an chroch far cuireadh Íoso
do rachadh ar dhéaraibh dhamh
féaghain mh'athar gá hiomchar. - Ní beag an dearbhadh doille
mar fholaighthear orainn-ne
na róid do nochtadh go neamh
le sgoltadh a chóig gcroidheadh. p.21 - Do dúnadh ar an teach
thall,
ní raibhe iadhta ar Iofrann;
an bhas do chosgair an cló
glas nír osgail i n-éanló. - Do ling an t-anam gan fhios
a corp Dé díochra an cairdeas;
do bhí a chaithréim ós aird ann,
do airg don aithléim Iofrann. - Dá fhichid lá isteach go dtug
do fhuirigh fa cuaird charud
ar dtocht a chinidh re a chois
ar slighidh go port Parthois. - Nach deachaidh ar a dheis féin
go bhfuair aontaidh gach fhíréin
do an-san níor bheag an bháidh
re cead na n-aspal d'fhagháil. - Na grása ler imthigh uainn
ní thiobhra Íosa an athuair
cunnradh saor díobh don duine;
ná bíom taobh re a thrócuire. - An bhratach le mbrisfe cath
do-ghéana achd go dtí an tobhach
ga seoladh le sluagh nimhe
leoghan don uan ainglidhe. - Do thabhairt impidhe air
ní racha naomh dá naomhaibh;
ar Dhia nach tráth dá tabhairt
ní bhia cách 'n-a chontabhairt. - A osgladh ar a aghaidh
pian don duine diúltfadhair;
is cneadh ghlúin nó cneadh chroidhe
súil ar teagh na trócaire. - Gan a fhuathachadh air féin
dar lat is lór do mhíchéill,
gin go mbeath m'easgcara ann,
teach na heasbhadha Iofrann. - Don chur-sa cloinne hEabha
cúis eagla na hairrdheana,
na piana 'n-a dtuile ag teacht
's na miana uile ag imtheacht. p.22 - Go lá an bhráith nach bia san chorp
a-tá fós aige d'fhurtocht;
fuigheall buille an anaim ann
gan chalainn uime i nIofrann. - Ní budh móide mo mheanma
mo thionnluicthe óm thighearna
a gcar go léir ar mo láimh
dámadh léir damh a ndíoghbháil. - An corp thig do nimh a-nall
diadhacht Íosa 's a anam
ranáir don tí nach tuigfeadh
fagháil na dtrí dtionnluiceadh. - Do gealladh glóir Dé dhamh-sa
an chuing do-chóidh oram-sa
dá bhfuilngeam go buan 'n-a bun;
is dual cuingheall i gcunnradh. - Ní fhuil easbhaidh ar m'ithir
nach féadfaidhe d'fhóirithin;
mór gcré nach tabhair toradh
go bhfaghair lé leasoghadh. - A-tá 'n-a chnoc ard rem ucht
an díomas do dhall m'amhurc;
tairgsin mo lot do leigheas
an cnoc aird-sin ísligheas. - Ní bhí dá thaisgidh im thoil
rún as aimhleas don anmoin
i n-uair chaointe mo cheana
nach faoicfe a thruaill thaisgeadha. - Ó nar chaitheas rinn mo rosg
san aimsir thall re theagasg
do riaghladh céadfadh an chuirp
déantar le hiarmhar m'amhuirc. - Im laithibh do-chuaidh caithimh;
biaidh m'aimsear 'n-a héanlaithibh
ag dul thoram go dtí an t-éag;
bí, a cholann, ar do choimhéad. - Fa dheireadh don domhan mhór
lá an bháis ní beag an claochlódh
do-ní, a dhuine, domhan beag
a thoradh uile d'aiseag. p.23 - Is cúiteachadh 'n-a chneadhaibh
cuimhne ar mo chrích ndéidheanaigh;
lá an bháis acht nach bí ar m'aire
a pháis ní hí as eaglaighe. - Nach léir damh gurab tríom tug
uan Muire i measg a námhad
a slán fa chneasghuin a chuirp
a-tám i n-easbhaidh amhuirc.
Atám. - A n-éisteacht tar cheann mo chean
dá ndiulta an mac, a mhaighdean,
a Mhuire, ná failligh féin
guidhe an aingil 's an fhíréin. - Ní fríoth ar feadh an domhain
id chorp ionnraic óghamhail
nó gur hinnleadh a líon lais
a dhíol d'innbhear it éagmhais. - Go ndeachaidh síos ar a son
do bhréag th'umhla 'n-a héanar;
rí na n-uile i gcéin chuca
fa réim duine dheorata.
Atám.
