    ar gcaitheamh mo chéadradhoirc;
    srian do chaithfinn ris an gcorp
    ó mbiadh aithrinn ar m'amhorc.
  2. Tuigim mo dhíoth amhoirc as
    nach móide iarraim eolas
    gan éantroigh ar a haghaidh
    ag céadfaidh dom chéadfadhaibh.
  3. Go n-aithnighim orum féin
    móide as oirchios a haimhréir
    nach foil roirinn ar mo rosg;
    doibhinn lem thoil a teagosg.
  4. Dá mbeinn i gcogadh rem chorp
    ní bhiadh easbhaidh ar m'amhorc;
    tug síoth do thabhairt dom thoil
    díoth amhairc ar an anmoin.
  5. Ní cosmhail nach meallfadh mé
    mo námha i n-aimsir m'óige
    's go saoilim go bhfoighbhe faill
    oirn-ne i gcaoileirr an chochaill.

    aithnim ar m'aigneadh ndíomsach,
    gé theasda ón radhorc a rinn,
    d'amhorc feasda achd a bhfaicim.
