- Cionnus dhíolfad mo luach leighis?
an liaigh neamhdha is é rom fhóir;
rachaidh sinn do dhíon ar ndocra
dá dhíol do rinn molta mhóir. - Tuilleadh ré dá ndáile dhamh-sa
díoghrais molta as mhó iná so
an liaigh neamhdha do-ní ar bhféaghain
is í ar meanma a déanaimh dhó. - Ní d'iarraidh cruidh ná cuach n-
órdha.
ní d'iarraidh airgid ná óir,
do-ní ar bhfreagrai-ne i ndáil docra
fáidh eagnaidhe an mholta mhóir. - Annsa leis-sean leathrann molta
ná maith bhréige an bheatha bhuain;
labhra chaoin is croidhe fialchar
ní maoin oile iarrthar uaidh. - Fóir, a liaigh chabhra na cruinne,
an corp fuar-sa ar a bhfuil sgís;
a shaoi leagha an leighis amhra
leighis cneadha m'anma ar-ís. - A n-imtheacht ní damhna doilghis
