    an liaigh neamhdha do-ní ar bhféaghain
    is í ar meanma a déanaimh dhó.
  3. Ní d'iarraidh cruidh ná cuach n- órdha.
    ní d'iarraidh airgid ná óir,
    do-ní ar bhfreagrai-ne i ndáil docra
    fáidh eagnaidhe an mholta mhóir.
  4. Annsa leis-sean leathrann molta
    ná maith bhréige an bheatha bhuain;
    labhra chaoin is croidhe fialchar
    ní maoin oile iarrthar uaidh.
  5. Fóir, a liaigh chabhra na cruinne,
    an corp fuar-sa ar a bhfuil sgís;
    a shaoi leagha an leighis amhra
