- Mairg théid tar toil a athar
ar a ghoin gidh bé as bhreitheamh;
eagail a fhearg uan d'fhiochadh,
criothar dhearg fan buan beithear. - Dlighid clann umhla d'aithribh;
an umhla an t-ann nach foighthir
cuimhne gaoil dóibh ní dlighthir;
sirfidh cóir taoibh is troighthigh. - Ní sgaoilfe síoth dar snadhmadh;
go bhfríoth dar dtaoibh-ne turbhadh
do-ghéabhtha i mbais Dé a dhearbhadh
dá ndearnadh sé ar crois cunnradh. - Gur guais deaghail re díoghain
fuair do chneadhaibh fan gcánaidh;
a searg mar sin ná saoilidh
fearg fhaoilidh fhir an álaidh. - Súil linn aga ar n-a
oighidh;
