    AONGHUS FIONN Ó DÁLAIGH cct ?

  1. Ná déana díomas, a dhuine;
    deimhin go bhfríoth fios do locht,
    fogus daoibh for-íor an t-uamhan
    ná bíodh dá thaoibh uabhar ort.
  2. A dhuine bhoicht ná bí díomsach,
    do dheireadh féin féach a-nú;
    a-tá sealbh ag an éag oraibh,
    is dearbh nach géag thoraidh thú.
  3. Rachthair a-rís san gcriaidh gcéadna
    —a criaidh ar dtús tháinig sibh;
    an t-uabhar dá thaoibh níor thréigis;
    uamhan daoibh ar léigis libh.
  4. Cairde aithghearr is eadh fhuarais,
    ní fada ón chriaidh a cur ort;
    dá mbé go bhfuil do ré romhaibh
    ní fhuil sé gan omhain ort.
  5. D'éis an bháis ní bhéara sibh- se
    síos fan dtalmhain a-tá fóibh
    —uch, a thruaigh, is truagh an mealladh—
    buar ná cuaigh ná earradh óir.
  6. Ní bhia achd aonbhrat is é cumhang
    fad chorp ar gcaitheamh do ré;
    tú mar chraoibh ar gcur a duille
    ar ndul daoibh don chruinne ché.
  7. Mór an truaighe mar tá sibh-se,
    seargfaidh do chlí claonfaidh t'fholt;
    mór an béad mar taoi id thoirrchim
    's an t-éag gach laoi ag oirchill ort.
  8.  p.135
  9. Brisfidh do dhearc—ba dáil baoghail—
    biaidh do bhéal ar dhath an ghuail;
    ná bí gan omhan t'fhir chagaidh;
    ag sin robhadh agaibh uaim.
  10. An troightheach—is tráth dá fhógra—
    re hucht an bháis—is beart truagh—
    creidthe dhíobh i gcriaidh an Choimdheadh
    biaidh fo-ríor 'n-a oighreadh fhuar.
  11. Rachaidh claochlódh ar chruth t'aighthe,
    d'éis t'éaga do b'olc do niamh,
    biaidh do bhéal mar an ngual ngabhann,
    ba tuar déar, a chalann chriadh.
  12. A dhuine, ná déana fallsacht;
    is fíor damh a ndubhairt mé,
    a chroinn 's a fhréamh a húir Éabha,
    is sgéal rúin ná déana dhe.
  13. Féach orm, a dhoirseoir Dé atar,
    a hucht Críost ler ceannchadh sinn;

    i ngeall re gníomh Ádhaimh inn.
    Ná.
