- Námha m'anma an chalann chriadh,
a hantal is damhna déar;
ag lot mh'anma is sí 'n-a suan
an chlí is truagh mar tharla tréan. - Truagh m'anam uaim ar a hiocht
an chalann do-chuaidh tar ceart;
ní thig díom díon ar a holc
do bhríogh a locht tríom ag teacht. - Beag sein dá lochtaibh gach laoi
gan a beith fa bhochtaibh Dé;
ní fa annsa do b'fhearr í
an chlí fhallsa do mheall mé. p.136 - Ní díol toile gloin a gníomh;
mairg a toil do-roighne riamh;
leas mh'anaim nach éidir dhúnn

mar do-ním-se is misde mé;
mairg dar bhiodhbha anman í
do-ní adhbhar diomdha Dé. - A ruachtain a ríogh ar

ní mó tréigthear leisge liom;

díomas do bharr cean im chionn. - Ar ndamhnadh ar ndéinimh craois
ní héidir nach adhbhar cáis
i ló an mheasda is cruaidh an chúis;
ní theasda drúis uaim gan áis. - Guais nach rogha leabtha luath,
ar mbearta folaigh ó fríoth,
gan fúin acht comhrag re cách,
dúil ghnáth i bhformad 's i bhfíoch. - Mun dtí d'Éanmhac Ríogh na

tar fíoch go ngéabhadh ar ngaol
séideadh feirge is fuatha fún
ní feirrde ar súr uatha ar-aon. - Dul 'n-a séana is docar

a ndíoghbhadh leam mar as lór
an síodhbhun róm teann i dtám.
