do-cháid an uile d'éinleith. - I n-aimsir Pheadair is Phóil
—ag trághadh gé tá a honóir—
do bhí an bhochtacht 'n-a linn láin
gur shocracht linn í d'fhagháil. - A-tá ag na daoinibh do dhligh
leanamhain an luirg dhírigh
beatha as táire ná bheith bocht
ag breith báire ar an mbochtacht. - Gin gurab air as mhó meas
is buidheach Dia dá dhaidhbhreas
bochtacht gin go mbeath dá thoil
neach leis nach olc a easbhaidh. - 'N-a comhthrom ní budh cuirthe

is é a aighneas go haithghearr. - Don chruinne mar chuid ronna
Íosa ar n-oide foghloma
an almsa rug do roghain;
tug annsa dá heasbhadhaibh. - Fada ó a báire do bhreith dhí

Muire ní hí a héineasbhaidh. - Ní fhuair fa dheoigh—is dó

do dhíoth carad ná compán
d'éis na n-easbal go héanar
easgar ó nach éiréaghadh. p.156 - Gabhthar i ngaisde an éaga
Froinséis fear a coimhéada
—gár fhearr bráighe—ag an mbochta,
ceann báidhe na bochtachta. - Fear do ba treise ar a thoil,
fear iomchuir cuinge crábhaidh,
bráthair nachar char a chorp,
damh nar ghnáthaigh a ghreasocht. - Béal tana dá dtugadh fios,
bas gheal nach glacadh díleas,

ná an chiabh mhaoth nar mhaoth gcrábhaidh,
far bhaoth ciall a chompánaigh. - Ní as ar bhaoghal a bhréagadh
don tsúil chuirr do choimhéadadh
an t-abhra gan díon ar dheoir
gá dtarla a díol do dhoirrseoir. - Le a chrábhadh ag breith breithe

go n-éisdfeadh rer n-urfhuigheall:
ní dochuirthe aghadh air
gabhal chothuighthe an chrábhaidh. - An dtibhreá d'éarlamh eile

's an chnú fhalamh i n-airde. - Gach tuar as truime geamhar

a n-aradhna d'ísleaghadh. - Go breith an chluiche ó chianaibh
ní bhíodh aca acht éinriaghail;

do dhíleas dá mbé ag bráthair. - Is cóir sa chás i bhfuilim
gan fhailleachadh m'urfhuighill
—ar síoth re laogh nDé dlighe—
ní saor é ó oirbhire. - Deacra dhúinne iná dhuit-se
dul beo ón bheirn ghábhaidh-se;
beag an phian do bhí id bhochtacht,
do mhian do bh'í an anshocracht. - Ar n-éigean muna fhóire
maoidh ar Mhac na banóighe
buirre na glaice gonta

d'eineaclann it fhoighide
Mac Dé dá n-eitghe th'umhlocht

ar Críosd ciodh nach maoidhfidhe?

goin th'ochta ní hindearmaid. - Im ionadh is tú thoghaim
d'aighne agus d'fhior uroghaill;
do bhiadh ar námha réidh rinn
mo námha féin dá bhfuilnginn. - Ní as a ndoirtfinn mo dhéara
bean osgladh as m'aithmhéala,
a dheochain, a chnú cridhe,
ós tú eochair m'aithrighe. - A oide, a athair dála,
