    a ráith éigneach eatharrod;
    cách ód chéadaithne do chur
    ní fáth méadaighthe meanman.
  2. An tú bhíodh i mbéalaibh sgol,
    do measdaoi re múr Cruachan?
    a phuirt ghil fan rionnghlan rosg,
    más ibh is iongnadh t-éagcosg!
  3. Do chlaochlóidh do chruth dealbhghlan,
    do imthigh bhar n-óirthreabhradh
    dod mhúr ghlan thaoibhleabhar the;
    ní mhar aoilghreanadh th'aighthe.
  4. Níor deargadh le hingnibh each,
    níor loiteadh le lorg nuaichreach,
    do leirg dtonnbháin ngairthe ngil,
    congháir t'fhaighthe do uaignigh.
  5. Tugais cruth naoidhe ar neamhchruth
    amhail do bhiadh baintreabhthach;
    a chúirt orrdhraic thirmgheal thiogh,
    do chomhloit imneadh th'aigneadh.
  6. Éagcóir do haithneadh oraibh
    cúis imnidh dá bhfuarobhair,
    a threabh na gcaithreann gcorcra
    re seal n-aithghearr n-iasochta.
  7. Dá dtuigthea mar táid re treall
    sé ríoghphuirt fhoirbhthe Éireann
    i n-éagcruth, a róimh na ríogh,
    níor chóir éagnach ar th'imshníomh.

  16. Gidh eadh ní hiongantach linn
    a bhfuil d'athtuirse ar th'intinn;
    gan fháth níor claochládh do chruth,
    a ráth na n-aolchlár n-amhlach.
  17. A-taoi re treimhse bhfada,
    a chéadráith chlann nDiarmada
    —an ríghe réidh ní rabha—
    ód fhréimh fhíre i n-aontamha.
