  1. Dorn idir dhán is dásacht;
    gairid bhíos ar buanfhásolc
    fulang na ndámh—dia do rath;
    cia leis an ndán nach díomsach.
  2. Mo dhán agus mo dhorn deas
    dias impidheach ar mh'aimhleas;
    is ollamh mho dhorn deas-sa
    ag sonnadh orm mh'aimhleasa.
  3. An díomas fo-deara dhamh
    do bhualadh-sa, a bhadhbh Chruachan;
    a-deir a lán as a los
    "do-bheir an dán an díomas."
  4. Mór an dásacht do dhuine
    dorn thort, a thuir Maonmhuighe;
    a fhlaith cró, 's gan a char tart
    do budh mó dhamh a dhásacht.
  5. "Níor chubhuidh riom, a rosg mall"
    a-déar ruibh, a rí Cualann,
    "bualadh neith dod ghualainn ghil
    gion go mbualainn cleith gCaisil."
  6. Tugas, a Aodh an fhuilt tais,

    bean an dorn díom mar dhlighe
    is ná bíodh orm th'oirbhire.

    a luach do dhán díom dhlighe

    ní fhuil t'aonmhac samhla sonn
