- Each gan aradhain an fhearg
do-ní—ghá deacra díbhearg—
ag breith chéime ar a conair
déine eich gan arodhain. - Each gan aradhain uirre
déine ná rioth réalluinne;
deirge ná drithle gan smál
crithre na feirge ar bhfadádh. - Ionann a n-airdheanna sin
—ní horam-sa nar imthigh—
neach nach gabhann ar a ghuth
each ga mbloghann a béalbhach. - Fearg ar bhfagháil a sboraidh
mar bhíos each gan arodhain
tarla rinn 'n-a tonnghoil te
sinn ag comhghoil re chéile. p.287 - A mheic Raghnailte, a rún ban,
tu-sa a-deirim dá déanamh
gan fheacadh ó aonghuth dhí
an eatal fhaobhrach fheirge. - Gidh meise féin ní fríoth ann
locadh aonfhocail agam;
níor loc mé mian mo theangadh;
a srian lé do léigeamar. - Níor thógbhais do shúil ó
shin
riom, a Bhriain Í Bhriain Luighnigh;
ní cara an tí dá dtabhar
fala agus í ar n-arsaghadh. - Do thréigis an béas bunaidh
riom-sa, a rí Ó gConchubhair,
an fhearg ní luaithe leat-sa
ná ag searg uaithe t'aigneadh-sa. - Cosmhail re Coin na hEamhna,
a Bhriain, a bhláth fhíneamhna,
do thonn fheirge i ngoire ghliadh
's do cheirde oile ar aoinrian. - Mar nach faghadh Cú an chleasraigh
díol a fheirge d'imreasnaibh
níor bh'iontaoibh cách ris an gCoin
i dtráth iompaoidh ó éachtaibh. - Laithe do-chuaidh do chur threas
nach fuair a fhóirithin d'áitheas
dá dtug mire chatha an Chon
cridhe na flatha ar bhfiuchadh. - Don fheirg do-chuaidh 'n-a chridhe
Cú Chulainn cúis deibhthire;
do hadhnadh a fhuil 's a fheoil
go bhfuil 'n-a adhbhar uirsgeoil. - An lá-soin ar lasadh dhi
do-rinneadh inntleacht uirre
as ar chosmhail a searg soin
fearg na Con-sain an chleasraigh. - Trí dabhcha—dia do thuigse—
do líonadh ann d'fhíoruisge
dá chur i ngach dabhaigh dhíbh
do chabhair Chon an chleitin. p.288 - An chéaddabhach uisge fhuair
i ndeachaidh—díochra an anbhuain—
do bhí an soidheach thall go te
's do choimhfhioch ann an t-uisge. - An dara dabhach dhíobh soin
mar do fhothraig Cú an chleasroigh
a chneas ar fud an uisge
do-ug an teas tánaisde. - An treas dabhach—dia do rath—
mar do toirneadh a theasbhach
d'aithle na dtrí gcuairt do chur
do bhí gan fhuacht gan fhiuchadh. - Cú Chuluinn an chrotha ghloin
táinig as na trí dabhchaibh
d'éis a fheirge do dhul de
mar sgur leirge dá luisne. - Ar lorg an chleasa chéadna,
a Bhriain na mbreath bhfíréanda,
do-ní sinn suaimhneach i-se
do linn uaibhreach fheirgei-se. - Na trí dabhcha a-dubhairt mé
do cumadh do chosg fheirge
—cóir teann as a soighníomh sin—
a gcoimhlíon leam do laoidhibh. - Do thoradh mo thrí laoidheadh
do chionn t-each is t'iolmhaoineadh
gidh bé a-dearam red ghruaidh ngil,
fuair mé t'fhearann i n-aisgidh. - Dá mbeinn dod chur i gciontaibh,
a Bhriainmheic mheic Muircheartaigh,
cionntaighe sinn iná sibh;
ar gciontai-ne linn léigidh. - Gach aonuair, a ucht mar thuinn,
dar fhás imreasan eadruinn
gér neimhneach inn it aghaidh
neimhdhrioch rinn do rónabhair. - As an gcloich, a chroidhe the,
re síorbhualadh tig teine;
rer gceird-ne do samhladh sin
ag adhnadh t'fheirge ar éigin. p.289 - Gá dám acht ní dheachaidh as
gur éirigh, a ucht solas,
fearg nua ret fhilidh oraibh,
a ua cinidh Chonchobhair. - Tig don fheirg-sin leath ar leath
is do chomhairleach Chairbreach
gur cuireadh as ar n-áit inn
cáit a suidheabh dá suidhinn. - Téaghadh na háite uaire
deacair d'fhior na haonuaire
'n-a dtuilleamh buidhe bídh sinn
gach duine is tír a dtéighim. - Do luach nar léigeabhar dhamh
mo bheith mar bhíos gach deoradh,
a Mhuire nar fhéagh th'oireacht
nach tréan duine ar deoraidheacht. - I n-éagmhais m'fhearainn chairte
nach truagh mé, a mheic Raghnailte,
is do mheic óglách uaibh ann,
a ghruaidh mar ógbhláth n-abhall. - Beir mé im dhúthaigh, a dhreach gheal
—an ní a-déaruinn fa dheireadh;
na tolcha ar ar hoileadh inn
go loigheadh ortha mh'intinn. - Magh Eine na n-inbhear gciúin,
Magh Ceitne na gcuan dtaidhiúir,
cnuic áille ar ar hoileadh mé
oirear mo bháire baoise. - Bun Loinne agus Loch Gile,
Calraighe is Cuan Sligighe,
is iad amhairc budh fhearr linn
mar cheann adhairt fam intinn. - Dá bhfaghainn uaid, a ucht geal,
mo bhreith d'fhéachain na n-oirear
ní bhréagfadh lán súla sinn
do chlár Úna agus Fhéidhlim. - Usa dham gé deirim soin
beith ar do chionn i gCruachain
ó tá ar Chruachain Aoi th'aire,
a bhuachail Chraoi Chonaire. p.290 - Bhar n-oireacht ag éirghe amach
go Magh Inghine Eachach
ní rach síos ó Chruachain Chuinn
's nach thíos uathaibh do anfuinn. - Carn Fraoich ag feitheamh oraibh
'n-a ríoghthar clann Choncobhair;
a rí Leamhna, luathaigh ort
's do mheanma i gCruachain Chonnocht. - Críoch Chonnacht ó Choirrshliabh suas,
a mheic Domhnaill na ndeaghdhuas,
biaidh sin i n-a chéide creach
muna thréige sibh Sligeach.
