    teach as ionnsa d'fholmhoghadh;
    a bheith mar tá is caoi croidhe,
    do bhaoi lá badh líonmhaire.
  2. Maith fear ler tógbhadh an teach,
    maith teach a-tá go huaigneach,
    maith bruidhean do bhí sonna
    gur cuireadh í i n-athchuma.
  3. Conchobhar Ó Briain Bhearbha
    don toigh-se fa tighearna;
    rian an toighe mar a-tá
    mo chroidhe im chliabh do chlaochlá.
  4. Gé tá 'n-a hadhbhaidh fholaimh
    bruidhean chúplach Conchobhair,
    do bhí ag loighe ar a lár sain
    a lán roimhe do ríoghraidh.
  5. Meinic do bhí meadhair mhór
    san toigh-sin a-tá ar anshógh
    taraidh mé gion gur sean sinn
    gan teagh amhail é i n-Éirinn.
  6. Ins an leath úd thall don tigh
    do bhídis laochradh Luimnigh,
    gach file dá dhíol 'gun droing,
    fíon dá ibhe go hursoinn.

    do bhíodh rí Rátha Chobhthaigh;

    d'ollamhnaibh 'ma ucht sholas;
    fairbríogh a bhfaghbhadh an dream

    go reich an orsuinn oile

    mór an t-adhbhar athtuirse.

    Mac Giolla Caoimh fhuair onóir
    dar ghabh an iris do b'fhearr
    dar sgar re hinis Éireann.
  14. Fleadh do tionnsgnadh uair oile
    i Longphurt Bhriain Bhóroimhe;
    an fhleadh an uair do b'abaidh
    na sluaigh is-teagh tángadair.
  15. I longphurt Bhriain na mbárc sean
    seacht laithe d'fhearaibh Éireann;
    i gcionn seacht laithe don fhleidh
    na maithe ag teacht dá dtighthibh.
  16. A-dubhairt ar dteacht is-teach
    an file uasal airgtheach:
    "raghaidh trá an saoghal mar so;
    'n-a aonar a-tá an teagh-so."
  17. Mac Giolla Caoimh do-chiu ar dteacht
    is fir Éireann ar n-imtheacht
    teagh Briain mar a-tá an teagh-so
    an lá i ndiaidh na ndeighfhear-so.
