    mór baoghal breithe Mícheoil
    ní bheith gan eire m'aithne
    do bhreith meidhe an mheasraighthe.
  2. Mór a fhearg ní hiongnadh dhó
    do chaithfinn m'aithne d'Iosa
    gan fhior sgeóil éigin as m'ucht
    a Eoin ní héidir mh' fhurtocht.
  3. Déana dot oide ar n-aithne
    gabh chugat mo chomairche
    a Eoin Bruinne bí ar mo chuid
    ní as uille ná mar iarrmuid.
  4. Dul don tigh i dtá t'aithne
    agus méad mo mhearaighthe
    ní fhéadfainn a Eoin Bruinne
    gan réaltainn eoil aguinne.
  5. Ceannnach an nighei-sin ar nimh
    tabhair oram ar éigin
