- A Cholmáin mhóir mheic Léinín,
a bhinnegnaidh bhaisghléimhín,
grádh dhuid as dú d'Íbh Dálaigh,
tú ar gcuid dona Colmánaibh. p.71 - Atá ann eochoir leasa,
cuimhnigh an gcráoibh gcoibhneasa,
ar léim ná léigsi a chara,
dod fhréimh th'éigsi ar n-ealadha. - Tú oide an fhileadh ó ttám,
a érlaimh dan hainm Colmán,
as comhrádh as canta amach
Colmán dár dhalta Dálach. - Ní bhíadh Dálach ris an dán,
mona bheadh re a chois Colmán:
dobadh léir é ar a oidiocht,
sé in gach céim gá chomhaideacht. - Gidh cúich adeir ná badh dleacht
ní ar an ndán — dia do chléirceacht —
ní ceard a n-aghaidh Dhé an dán,
as é do chabhair Colmán. - Colmán dá nar cóir neimhshearc,
seal fada lé filidhiocht:
nocha ría badh dáigh a dhol,
monbadh áil lé Día a dhénamh. - Ar Cholmán Chlúana hairde
do cuireadh an chédchairde:
tug ma cheann druim ris an dán,
fearr an chuing ar ar claochládh. - Do ghrádhaigh creidemh comhlán
da bfuair ar nimh Naomhcholmán:
'na hiongnais fhúair a chabhair,
tiomnais uaidh an ealadhain. - Fáth ar gcairdis cuirthi a mbrígh
lé Colmán mór mac Léinín:
tiomna Colmáin ar a cheird
tré diomdha an bhonnbháin bhéildeirg. p.72 - Aigi do fháguibh an dán,
bronndalta do bhí ag Colmán,
an céidfhear ór slonnadh sinn,
ollamh dárbh éigion uirrim. - Dob é Dálach a dhalta,
air do fhear a bheannachta:
d'fírfhréimh a sheandalta ó shoin,
beannachta an fhíréin oghnaidh. - Maithi mhuinntire Dálaigh,
a ttreisi atá a bfágbhálaibh:
ar fhádaibh an domhnán duinn
Colmán do fháguibh aguinn. - Dob oirchios d'aicmi Dhálaigh,
dá ttug éicsi n-édálaigh,
dúana do dhérghadh dá ndán
d'érlamh Clúana, do Cholmán. - Mar do-radais dhúin ar ndán,
a chomhachtaigh, a Cholmán,
faghaibh cathair mar dhún nDé,
dhúnn ar gcathaimh ar gcéidré. - Féch oirn, a oide ar sinnsir,
mon gcathraigh n-aird n-aoibhinnsin:
gabh mé seach gach áon réd ais,
ar gháol an té do thoghais. - Ná raibh agád ar n-éra,
guidhim thú go ttaisbéna
do shíol do bhronndalta ar bháidh
bríogh do chonganta, a Cholmáin.
