- Léigidh dhamh mo Dhomhnall féin,
a éigse Innse saoirNéill,
sul do-cluintir ós aird inn
in gach aird uichtghil d'Éirinn. - Siobhlach oirbh as gach ionadh,
ag teacht orm dá uaisleaghadh,
an choimhlingse nár aniogh,
a dhámh ghoirminnse Gaoidheal. - In bhar dtíribh féin feasta
anaidh, ní hiúl éigcneasta,
nós na nGallsa ós éigean ann,
léigear dhamhsa mo Dhomhnall. - Mithigh dhúin, seachnaidh sinne,
nó bíom coimhdheas cointinne:
fám chuid don Bhrianfhuil a-bháin,
ná hiarraidh truid ná teangmháil. p.86 - Nach diongnainn a dhíol molaidh,
don dáimh doirbh an bharamhail;
ní díol aor d'aoinneach amháin
an saor, an daoineach dreachnáir. - Breath dlighidh gnáthchúirte Gall
ní bheanfaidh díomsa Domhnall;
fada atá sin 'nar seilbhne,
rém lá ribh ní roinnfimne. - Ní thiobhrainn do chléir cheannaigh
mo chliath fhosgaidh fhuairearraigh -
ní gar fáth frithbhéime dhó -
mo sgáth sithghréine i samhló. - Fám gheall táille i dtigh n-óla
leam ní fhuiltí ionchóra,
a dhream dán doibheanta dhamh,
fám gheall oireachta is éarlamh. - Mo chuan téigle i dtaoibh tráchta,
mo dheór aille fhionnMhárta,
m'fhearann saor, mo choimhéad cruidh -
ní foighéag mo chraobh chnuasaigh. - Oram a chliar, ná cuinghidh
mo bhreac sruithgheal saorLuimnigh:
mealltair lé sgéal gach sgoile
m'éan a seabhcaibh Síodhoire. - A ró oinigh ar n-agra,
leór d'éigsibh dá ionnarba;
fáth sgís ar n-eolaisne uaidh,
mo ghrís beoluisne bhiothbhuain. p.87 - Coill gríbhe na ngleodh nimhe,
nó slad nathrach neimhnighe,
toidheacht don iathsa gan fhios,
d'oireacht d'iarsma na n-éigeas. - Toisg an ainmhidhe allta
téid san leabaidh leoghanta~ -
beart robhaoise nach réidh d'fhior -
béin fám fhoraoise d'éigean. - Cuairt fhaolchon d'fhoghail tréada
láimh ré lucht a gcoimhéada
bhar dtoisg, a chliar, tar Chloinn dTáil,
ag triall fá choill mo chompáin. - Lámh i n-aghaidh airmreann n-áith,
nó argain beach brugh bhfionnbhláith,
cur im cheann fám chéidfhear ngráidh,
a dhream dárbh éigean mh'éadáil. - A ndiúltadh níorbh eól uaidhe -~
tig an t-éigeas aonuaire
's an gnáithfhile doirbh 'na dhiaidh,
tar bhláithfhine soirbh saoirBhriain. - Dul i seilbh chosanta a chruidh
ar éigsibh Innse Cobhthaigh,
flaith úr nach séadarsaidh soin,
éagcosmhail dún a dhéanaimh. - An troidse do-ním aniogh
lé gach druing don fhóir fhileadh,
troid bathlaigh lé buidhnibh sluaigh,
a shuilbhir athlaimh armruaidh. p.88 - An tan nach tabhair tú féin
congnamh damh fán dáimh d'aimhréir,
an riamh fád chlú nár chumhgaigh;
ní ciall tú do theasargain. - Bheith dá laoidhibh i leabhraibh
i ndiaidh mheic mheic Toirdhealbhaigh,
buaine leam ná cogail chruidh
mar gheall don bhogfhuil Bhrianaigh.
