  1. Cara agus eascara in fhearg,
    maith is saith dúsgadh díbhearg:
    ga hobar dhíbh nach doiligh?
    sídh is cogadh cumhdoighidh.
  2. Gnáth ar ttosach ag teacht di
    fuaradh carad fa chéili.
    a bruth go ttabhuir a theas,
    guth 'na haghuidh ní háineas.
  3. Gidh eadh, ní turnamh toile
    fearg an aosa hionmhoine:
    'na dheaghuidh as daingne a ngrádh,
    deadhuil chaingne na ccumpán.
  4. Ar bfearg anois dá nós sin
    re Máire inghean Még Uidhir:
    créd sin acht snadhmadh andsa?
    mo chin d'adhnadh m'iodhlannsa.
  5. Do báidheadh grís ar ngoimhe,
    táinig teas ar n-ionmhoine:
    d'éis ar ndíbheirge is teó ar ttoil,
    breó ar bhfírfheirge ros fuaraigh.
  6. Ar bhfearg mhór ní mór a suim,
    mairg do loitfeadh láimh eadruinn:
    budh roidheithnios gráidh ar ngoimh,
    táir ar gcoimheighthios cogoidh.
  7. Comhrádh leanb ar luaidheadh thrín,
    cluiche is gáire ar nglór eissídh,
    focal coirmdhighe thrá ar ttreas,
    ar lá oirbhire is áineas.
  8. Ní bheanfa aimhleas no olc
    ormsa inghean Con Connocht,
    gnúis charthonach gan chailg n-aor,
    ón marthonach mairg macaomh.
  9. A gnúis bhláith go mbriocht toile,
    cáruid cholpthadh sneachtoidhe,
    tuar maithmhighe a silleadh so,
    filleadh ainchridhe ionnto.
  10. Banfhlaith shíl gColla dá Chrích,
