ní diomdhach dhe mar chách mé;
fada go mbeinn-se ar a gcor,
an drong chaoineas fod a ré. - Más fíor nách maireann acht sinn,
is tuirseach damhsa linn féin;
mór an mhaidhm-se tug an grádh;
duine ar n-imtheacht a hár mé! - Forgla a bhfaicim-se do chách
isé a marthain is cás leó;
ní duine eatarra sein
gibé do thairgfeadh bheith beó. - Cuid dá maoidheann bheith re bás
aithne dhamhsa mar tád sin;
ar ghrádh Chríost ná habraid é,
is mairg ina méinn is-tigh. - Duine beó dá rádh nách mair,

do-chluinim daoine ag dul d'éag
