- An gcluine mé, a mhacaoimh mná?
cuir do chomhrádh ar athlá;
a fholt géagglan buidhe búidh,
duine éadmhar ní hionrúin. - Léig dod chomhrádh, seachain sinn,
an go fóill, féach id thimchill;
sguir dhín, ná tarr dár dtadhall,
bídh am ag an uraghall. - Beag an fáth fá bhfaghthar guth,
seachain tú! ná tuill t'ionnlach;
im aice ná suidh mar soin, —
an bhfaice a bhfuil dár bhféachain? - Druid siar! ná suidh im fharradh;
atáid cách, ad-chualamar,
a chiabh nocht na bhfoighéag bhfionn,
i gcoimhéad ort ós íseall. p.53 - Ní fhuil ar breith dhuit ná dhamh
(a Mhuire! is mór an t-amhghar)
gidh beag, cor do láimhe im láimh;
mo náire a dhol dod dhíoghbháil. - Ó nách bhfuil dod dhreich dhealbhaigh
cead suirghe ná sibheanraidh,
truagh, agus Ére ar h'aghaidh,
an céle rer cheanglabhair. - Mise gach laoi id leanmhain,
tusa gan chead gceileabhraidh;
a chúl druimneach do mhill mé,
sinn i gcuibhreach re chéle. - Fada liom, ní lugha lat,
gan cead uraghaill agat;
a fholt fiar ina bhfoil fad,
ní bhiam mar soin acht sealad. - Congaibh bhós do bhéal 'na thocht,
gearr, thrá, go bhfuigheam furtacht;
ó taoi i láimh ná labhair linn,
anaidh mar tháidh id thoirrchim. - Re feadh an laoi ná labhair;
bí go banda banamhail;
fuilngidh in bhar dtost is-tigh,
cuibhrigh do rosg a-réigin.
