  1. Ná bí dom bhuaidhreadh, a bhean,
    ar ghrádh th'einigh ná lean díom;
    madh fada, madh gearr mo ré,
    ná buaidhir mé tre bhith síor.
  2. Iarraim féin d'athchuinghe ort,
    a ghnúis éadrocht na bhfolt bhfionn,
    ná bí dom bhuaidhreadh níos sia,
    gibé hionadh i mbia sionn.
  3. Níor chaitheas oidhche ná lá,
    gidh fada gearr a-tám sunn,
    a throigh chéimleasg, a chúl claon,
    nách beitheá-sa mar-aon rum.
  4. Im cholladh, a ghruaidh mar ghrís,
    ná tara tre fhís dom fhios;
    im dhúsacht, a shéaghain shuairc,
    ná tarr dom bhuain as mo riocht.
  5. Gidh deacair damh a rádh ribh,
    ná faiceam sibh, ná mill mé;
    ó nách bhféadaim dul ón mbás
    ná tarr eadram is grádh Dé.
