GeneralContext Panel.
Location church at Breedon.
GeneralDescription Panel with two figures, dated to the ninth century.
GeneralDescription These draped figures are set in a square-headed frame, in a squashed position. They are standing on tiptoe, and their heads are inclined to each other. Neither figure has a halo, and both are holding plant spray, with a hollow pointed leaf in their right hands. The figure on the left holds a book in his left hand. He is bearded and has long waving hair. The figure on the right has shorter hair.
GeneralDescription Their plant scrolls, along with the deep undercutting of the background, link these figures with the friezes at Breedon.
