GeneralDescription Each panel of the Cross of the Scriptures at Clonmacnois, Co. Offaly, is framed separately. The cross shaft and base have roll moulding at their edges, and each panel is separated by a projecting frame. It is noticeable that the arms of the cross tilt upwards.
S3 (?) David as shepherd two figures are shown frontally, the lower one is wearing a long robe and holds a shepherd's crook, the upper figure is winged suggesting that it depicts an angel guarding the lower figure.
