The West face of the shaft is divided into four panels. The lowest has bosses and voluted trumpet-spirals. The next has a
diagonal grid of serpent's bodies with various types of heads. The third panel has bossed spirals, with animal designs and
voluted trumpet-spirals. The top panel has serpent and boss ornament.
