GeneralDescription This is a general view of the 'Doorty' Cross at Kilfenora, Co. Clare . EAST FACE
End Ss Paul and Anthony Breaking Bread in the Desert. (Hagiography) Two clerical figures are depicted, both holding croziers, a winged beast is depicted at their feet, and the crozier of of St. Anthony is 'attacking' it. (?) Representation of Ss. Paul and Anthony overcoming evil in the form of a winged beast, see Harbison, 1992, 153.
Top unidentified figure, cleric, possibly a bishop or abbot wearing a mitre.
