Since joining UCC in 2005, Kathrin has been working on research subjects of coastal management and planning within the Coastal and Marine Governance group. Specific research interests within the coastal and marine governance group include adaptation to climate change, Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM), Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) and work involving the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD), with focus on descriptors 10 and 11: Marine Litter and Energy incl. Underwater Noise. Kathrin has extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, group facilitation, outreach and dissemination work, while addressing issues of coastal and marine governance through her contribution to several internationally funded projects such as:
