Biography:

Emma Nic Cárthaigh is a part-time lecturer in the Department of Early and Medieval Irish at University College Cork and has worked with the Locus Project since 2003. She presently holds the post-doctoral fellowship of the De Finibus Project, funded by the IRCHSS, whose focus is on Christian representations of the Afterlife in medieval Ireland (http://definibus.ucc.ie/). Her research interests include onomastics, medieval Irish literature and bardic poetry.
