Having done some training in counselling skills, I won a PhD studentship under the PRTLI3 programme for research in the area of cognitive function in older age, and completed this PhD in 2008.
Since then, my research interests have continued to include psychology of older age, but have expanded into new areas and have become more social in orientation.
