 Description

PhD Study:
The research study examines the political representation of asylum seekers in Ireland.  It's theoretical component draws on approaches to deliberative democracy and participation, informed by a reflection on how deliberative democratic participation can promote inclusion.  The empirical component of the research involves semi-structured interviews with migrant NGO's exploring how they facilitate participation, deliberation, and political inclusion in representing asylum seekers.  It also involves focus groups with asylum seekers examining how they experience political  representation.
