Biography:
I did an undergraduate honours degree in Biochemistry at the University of Bath, then a PhD linking Biochemistry to Exercise Physiology at the University of Glasgow (Thesis titled: Lactate Production and the Redox State of Muscle). My philosophy is in applying science, linking scientific theory with practical application to reinforce the benefits of exercise and improve athletic performance. My extensive science background is supplemented with sporting experience as a competitive swimmer, representing Great Britain as a Senior International at numerous events including World University Games, European Sprint Championships and World Short Course Finals. I am currently a Technical Member of the Irish Institute of Sport, providing support for talented Irish athletes to ensure high performance and athletic achievement at the highest level.
