Research Profile

Robert Gleasure

Biography

Dr Rob Gleasure is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems. He obtained a BA Computer Science) from UCD in 2005, a MBS (Business Information Systems) from UCC in 2008, and a PhD (Business Information Systems) from UCC in 2013.

Rob' research interests surround the related areas of online crowd behaviour, stress and wellbeing, the philosophy of design and design science, and the psychophysiology of human-computer interaction. In particular, he's interested in the role of less conscious processes in online interaction, e.g. perception, awareness, memory, affectivity, and social biases.

Rob's research has been published in many top-ranked international journals, including the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Information Systems Journal , the Journal of Strategic Information Systems, the Journal of Information Technology, MIT Sloan Management Review, and Information & Organization. He is Associate Editor for the Journal of Decision Systems, a Founding Member of the AIS SIGOPEN, and has taken on different Chair roles for multiple international conferences.

Rob's goal is to produce high-quality, internationally visible research. He is currently ranked 9th in the world in for the number of articles published as lead author in the AIS basket of 8 premier Information Systems journals (also known as the 'straight count') during the most recent 3-year period (2015-2017). Only one other European researcher is ranked ahead of him in this period.
