Emilie Ghio

Biography

Research Interests

Emilie's research interests lie in the areas of Corporate Insolvency and Rescue Law and EU law.

Emilie's PhD thesis is entitled "Harmonisation or Collision? European Insolvency and Rescue Law. A Case Study on the Functioning of the Internal Market."

The project involves a critical analysis of the EU's efforts in providing a legal framework for dealing with cross-border insolvencies, notably through the 2000 Council Regulation on Insolvency. The research analyses the scope of current revisions of the Regulation by the European Commission, linked with the EU's current concern to promote economic recovery and sustainable growth. In particular, the project is located within the broader legal and policy debates surrounding further European integration
