Biography:

Tanya Ní Mhuirthile is a graduate of University College Cork (BCL 2000, LLB 2005, PhD 2010) and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (MDra 2002). Her doctoral research, entitled Intersex Individuals, Gender and the Limits of Law was conducted under the joint supervision of Drs Mary Donnelly and Siobhán Mullally. Tanya is a member of the board of directors of Transgender Equality Network Ireland, and is a founder member of Intersex UK. Tanya joined the Law Faculty in October 2009. Her research interests lie broadly in the areas of bodies and the law, gender and the law, feminism, medical law, human rights law and family law.
