Ashleigh Byrne

Biography

Following over 7 years as a researcher in the area of biochemistry and cell signalling, I am now a  the Research & Innovation Coordinator for the College of Medicine and Health. I help CoMH researchers in areas such as identifying a grant that is appropriate for their interests and career stage, proposal development, proposal review, and finding collaborators. I work closely with the CoMH Vice Dean for Research and Innovation, Dr Michael Clarkson, to support clinicians and other healthcare staff affiliated with UCC who wish to be research active. I also work closely with the CoMH Research Committee to advance research within the CoMH, and promote academic-clinical collaborations. 

I especially like helping researchers develop grant proposals, with a particular interest in Horizon2020/Horizon Europe.
