Biography
Fiona Geaney is currently working as a research assistant and a PhD student with the HRB Centre for Diet and Health in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health in University College Cork. Fiona's PhD is focused on public health nutrition and her title is "A step in the right direction: the impact of a workplace catering initiative on dietary intakes, disease risk and long-term changes of food patterns".
Fiona graduated from University College Cork in 2007 with a BSc in Nutritional Sciences. In 2008/09, Fiona completed an MPH in Epidemiology and Public Health and discovered a keen interest in public health nutrition and health promotion. Her thesis title was "The impact of a catering initiative in determining food choices and salt intake in the public sector in Ireland".
Fiona is currently working on the 'Cork and Kerry Diabetes and Heart Disease Study'.
Research Interests
Fiona is interested in public health nutrition, food and lifestyle behaviours and health promotion.
