Elaine Lehane

Biography

PhD, MSc Nursing Studies (Clinical), PGCertT&LHE, BSc Nursing Studies, Dip. Nursing Studies, Registered General Nurse
Dr. Elaine Lehane is a Senior Lecturer at the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork. She is a registered general nurse and has practiced in the areas of neuro-medicine and renal care. Her key research interests are in the areas of chronic illness management, specifically supportive care strategies and professional workforce development and evaluation. Principal teaching scholarship interests include curriculum development for professional practice and interprofessional teaching and learning of Evidence Based Practice. Dr Lehane has led and/or actively contributed to a number of national projects including: development of the National Irish Hospice Foundation guidance document on Medication Management for people with Dementia;  the Nursing & Midwifery National Turnover Study; the National Cystic Fibrosis Depression & Anxiety Study; the National Cancer Survivorship Needs Assessment; the Teaching of Evidence Based Practice Across the Health Professionals in Ireland, the Development of a Competency Framework for Clinical Effectiveness Education for Healthcare Professions in Ireland and 'Magnet4Europe' - Workforce Health & Well-Being.
