Patrick Thomas Cotter


Patrick is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner at the Emergency Department, Cork University Hospital and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer and programme lead of the Postgraduate Diploma in Emergency Nursing at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork. He has worked and taught in Emergency Nursing  since the late 1990s and was central to the development of the first Advanced Nursing Practice post in the Cork/Kerry region. Patrick has been involved in a number of clinical, service and educational developments. He is a member of a number of national and international associations as well as having sat on a number of local and national committees. Patrick is a Registered General Nurse, Registered Midwife, Registered Nurse Prescriber and a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner. His education has included the completion of a Diploma in Management and Employee Relations, BSc in Nursing, Higher Diploma in Emergency Nursing, MSc in Nursing Studies and a Doctor of Nursing Degree as well as a number of other courses.
