Biography:

I am a full time clinical fellow in the oral surgery department at the Cork University Dental School and Hospital. I am currently undertaking a PhD on respiratory monitoring during conscious sedation focusing on capnography.  I completed an MSc in conscious sedation from Newcastle University in 2012 having held a diploma in conscious sedation from Newcastle since 2007. Prior to commencing my present post in 2011, I had worked in general dental practice for  over 15 years’. In the past, I also held part time posts at the dental school as a lecturer in conscious sedation,  a clinical attachment in oral surgery and a clinical demonstrator in oral surgery . 

I am an Irish Heart Foundation certified B.L.S. instructor and regularly run C.P.D. courses for Dentists and Dental care professionals at the Cork Dental School on C.P.R. and medical emergencies in dental practice.

Areas of interest include minor oral surgery, implantology, intravenous conscious sedation,medical  emergencies in dental practice and forensic odontology.
