Cristiane Da Mata

Biography

I graduated with a dental degree from UFMG, Brazil in 2000. After working in practice for a few years, I moved to Ireland and decided to pursue an academic career, which has always been my aim. I initiated a PhD in Restorative Dentistry, about the use of Atraumatic Restorative Treatment in older patients, completed in 2011. During this time, I worked as a Senior House Officer in Paediatric Dentistry and later in Restorative Dentistry.  I also completed a Masters in Public Health, in 2016, Teaching and Learning Cerificate in 2017.

Research Interests

My research interests include: the use of minimally invasive dentistry including ART, cost-effectiveness of oral healthcare interventions, treatment options for the elderly patient, quality of life, dental education, and knowledge transfer.
