Biography

I graduated with a degree in dentistry from UCC in 2000. After undertaking a year of vocational training in dentistry, I worked for a number of years in the public dental service. I joined the Oral Health Services Research Centre as a researcher in 2005 and worked on a 5 year project to develop a suite of oral health guidelines for the public dental service. During that time I completed a postgraduate Diploma and an MSc in Epidemiology. I was awarded a HRB Cochrane Fellowship in 2009 to conduct a systematic review of chlorhexidine mouthrinse as an adjunctive treatment for gingival health. I am currently working on two HRB funded projects; Fluoride and Caring for Children's Teeth (FACCT) and Mapping the Divide-population need, demand and geographic access to oral health care in Ireland.I graduated with a degree in dentistry from UCC in 2000. Research Interests

I am interested in the field of preventive dentistry particularly in relation to children's oral health. I have been involved in the development of a suite of guidelines for the public dental service in Ireland. I have a keen and on-going interest in conducting high quality systematic reviews. I am currently developing skills in mapping oral health data using a Geographic Information System (GIS) and am involved in running a large regional epidemiological study of children's oral health (FACCT: Fluoride and Caring for Children's Teeth).
