I am also currently a lab demonstrator for BSc. and MSc. modules lectured by Dr. Grigoras.
Outside of university, I am very passionate in my hobby of civil aviation, and I take flying lessons with the aim of obtaining a Private Pilot's License.
BSc:
CS2506: Operating Systems II
CS3311: Middleware
MSc:
CS6312: Mobile Devices and Systems
CS6313: Services and Mobile Middleware
My responsibilities for these labs include assisting students, presenting new material, creating and setting assignments (including creating related lab sheets and materials such as code), and grading of students work.
In June 2014, I won the College of SEFS Student Nominated Outstanding Postgraduate Demonstrator Award for my teaching work in the lab sessions.
I also assist in the supervision of Dr. Grigoras's MSc students completing their thesis projects.
In the past, while still an undergraduate student, I gave weekly tuition sessions to students of the CS2500 Software Development module, while also helping out in some lab sessions for the same module.
In UCC, I have completed the following postgraduate modules aimed at research students involved in teaching, all of which are offered by Ionad Bairre, the Teaching and Learning Centre:
PG6003: Teaching and Learning for Graduate Studies, 2013.
PG6012: Scholarly Approaches to Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, 2014.
Biography
I received my BSc. in Computer Science from UCC in 2012, and started my PhD in the same year, under the supervision of Dr. Dan Grigoras. I successfully received an IRCSET EMBARK award, my application for which was sponsored by Professor Cormac Sreenan and Dr. John Herbert, and my research is funded under this scheme. My research is in the area of mobile cloud computing, where I am looking at models of integration between mobile applications and cloud resources, to provide an integrated user experience on mobile devices. This research also involves areas such as context awareness, mobile cloud middleware SOA in the cloud (in particular, service description and discovery), and mobile cloud resource management.I am also currently a lab demonstrator for BSc. and MSc. modules lectured by Dr. Grigoras.
Outside of university, I am very passionate in my hobby of civil aviation, and I take flying lessons with the aim of obtaining a Private Pilot's License.
