The concerns identified in Maria-Alejandra’s research relate to six categories of specific PPMs such as biodiversity, forests, oceans, alternative energies, climate change and agriculture. Additionally, her thesis addresses the legality of environmental PPMs according to the most recent WTO case law and the conceptual framework developed by international trade law scholars. Her analysis also seeks to reconcile the PPM phenomenon with such emerging paradigms as Global Administrative Law and Global Environmental Governance.  Her research project is supervised by Dr. Owen McIntyre and shall be completed by September 2014.She is also a teaching assistant in European Law at University College Cork.
