Biography:
Guangbo Hao earned the Bachelor Degree of Engineering, Master Degree of Engineering, and Doctor Degree of Engineering all
from Northeastern University (NEU), China, in July 2004, March 2007, and July 2008, respectively. In September 2011, he was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy
(PhD) in Mechanical Engineering after a three-year fully funded studying in Heriot-Watt University (HWU), UK. His PhD thesis in Northeastern University studied the reliability modeling of mechanical systems such as pipeline and wire
cable. His PhD thesis in Heriot-Watt University has investigated the design and modelling of large-range compliant parallel
manipulators using spatial compliant modules.
He joined University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, as a permanent full-time Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering in November 2011. His current research focuses on compliant
parallel mechanisms for Precision Engineering, MEMS and Biomedical applications such as nanopositioner, motion/scanning stage, force/acceleration
sensors, and bio-cell gripper and injector. Dr. Hao is a member of ASME from 2009, and is the recipient of the 3rd Prize for
the Young Engineers Research Paper Award 2012 (Ireland) presented by IMechE and Engineers Ireland. (For updated information,
