Research Interests

Anne is currently on secondment from UCC at the University of Alberta, Canada on an IRCSET-Marie Curie International Mobility Fellowship. The Fellowship involves a two year secondment at the University of Alberta under the supervision of Professor John Spence with the third and final year completed at UCC with Professor John O'Halloran. This project examines the influence of forest management on a range of ground-dwelling invertebrate taxa in mixedwood forests and aims to identify structural and functional indicators of their diversity. Previous postdoctoral research has examined terrestrial invertebrate diversity in a range of plantation forests and native woodlands across Ireland (

). Anne completed her PhD thesis in 2006 at UCC, which focused on spiders in Irish plantation forests. General research interests include forest ecology, invertebrate taxonomy, sustainable management of terrestrial ecosystems and biodiversity assessment.
