Micheal Burke


My research focuses on fabrication and characterisation of novel wafer-scale 3-D nanostructured electrodes based on combined atomic layer deposition/self-assembled nanoporous material approaches.Developed processes to date have been successfully demonstrated for Pt,TiN,HfO2,TiO2,Al2O3, as well as subsequent nano-laminate and hybrid materials in high density, high aspect ratio (AR) nanostructured porous geometries (AR>20) .

 Select applications areas currently pursued include:

·On-chip Supercapacitors,

·High surface area electrodes for battery applications.

·Electrochemical supercapacitors.
