Biography
Oliver Browne is a Lecturer of Accounting at Cork University Business School, University College Cork (UCC), where his teaching largely focuses on Financial Accounting. Oliver is also a director of the Masters in Management Information & Managerial Accounting Systems (MIMAS). He has a PhD (FinTech), MSc (Corporate Finance), BSc (Finance), Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, all from UCC. His research and teaching is informed by industry experience in regulatory and risk reporting, having worked in Treasury for Ireland’s largest retail bank, Bank of Ireland. He has also published in International peer-reviewed journals and Conferences, including the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JASIST) and the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS). Currently, Oliver is researching the impact of FinTech on incumbents, new entrants and regulators within the FinTech ecosystem.
