Research Profile

Marco Vitturi

I am an IRC postdoctoral fellow in Analysis at the School of Mathematical Sciences UCC. My mentor is Spyros Dendrinos and the project associated to my fellowship concerns geometric interpretations for certain tools from the theory of Radon transforms called Affine Invariant Measures.
I was previously a CNRS postdoc at the University of Nantes, France, where I worked under the mentorship of Frédéric Bernicot, funded by his ERC FAnFArE grant.
Before that, I was a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, from which I graduated in December 2016. My PhD advisor was Jim Wright and my PhD thesis was on certain biparameter singular integrals (along surfaces in the Heisenberg group) for which I developed an L^2 theory in order to characterise when these objects are bounded operators.
