Biography
PhD (University of Cambridge, 1991); Junior Research Fellow (Darwin College, University of Cambridge / British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow, 1993-1994)
Research Interests
My research interests are in the interrelated areas of modernism, American and Caribbean literature, and transnationalism. I have published monographs on Wallace Stevens, Caribbean poetry, and, most recently, on D.H. Lawrence and American literature. I am the co-editor of three Cambridge University Press collections on modernist poetry, Locations of Literary Modernism, the Cambridge Companion to Modernist Poetry, and A History of Modernist Poetry. I also have a research interest in Frederick Douglass and Ireland.
