 Description

I helped out at the Department of French Transition Year Open Day which was held on the 13th December 2011.

In April 2013, I was awarded “The Boyle Postgraduate Scholarship in German” at University College Cork which enabled me to undertake two valuable research trips in the Hermann Hesse-Archiv in the Deutsches Literaturarchiv in Marbach am Neckar in Germany (2013 and 2016). This award amounted to €3, 000. This scholarship is offered annually and is open for competition among suitably qualified graduates of UCC.

In June 2013, I participated in the Creative Mind category in the UCC Doctoral Showcase. I was invited to give a presentation on my PhD-project in the finals. My performance combined a Power point presentation and a puppetry comedy sketch. The aim of the Doctoral Showcase is to encourage University College Cork's research students to develop innovative ways to communicate their research to a non-specialist audience.

From the 29th May to the 1st June 2014, I helped out at the "Scenario Forum International Conference Performative Research, Learning and Research" with the following:

● Registration
● General Help

I have attended the international UCC conference entitled: "Process and Practice: Adaptation Considered as a Collaborative Art", which took place on the 3rd and 4th October 2014. I provided help with:

● Postering and sign posting in advance of event
● “Manning” the registration table
● Assistance with room set-up
● Ensuring conference packs were assembled
● Ensuring tables have water and cups for speaker
● Ensuring AV is up and running in rooms

I was at the UCC Open Day Department of German stand on the 10th October 2015, 8th October 2016, and 14th October 2017.

I helped co-ordinate the "GSAI Annual Conference 2017" as part of a team in the Department of German at UCC.
