  - This paper presents ethnographic research on Plugd Records, an independent music store in Cork city, Ireland.  I chart the history of Plugd, its evolution, reconfiguration and survival in the context of an economic recession and changing patterns of music consumption.  My research also explores the importance of Plugd as a creative hub in the city and considers its impact on music-making activities and its relationship with local musicians.
