GeneralDescription South Cross Shaft, West view. The cross is dated to the mid ninth century.
GeneralDescription The main part of the shaft has many figures. The three at the top of the panel are identified as Christ in the centre, with Moses and Elijah on either side, at the Transfiguration, New Testament, Matt. 17; Mark 9:2; Luke 9:29; John 1:14.
GeneralDescription The next scene is the Adoration of Mary and the Christ Child. Below these there are the three Magi, New Testament, Matt. 2. There are two angels under these.
